We proceed knowing that there is no one right answer, or even 10 right answers, in highlighting the best moments of a legendary five-decade career that will surely endure the ages.
But that’s not going to stop them trying!
An interesting list, which I almost completely disagree with. One of these would make it onto my personal top 10, but I’m not familiar with them all. I think this is why I like other peoples’ lists; they give me something new. I’ve previously avoided anything by Dylan post 1967 (excepting the brilliant pair of Blonde on Blonde & Desire from 1975/76), and would never have thought about listening to his 80’s stuff.
If I made my own list, I don’t think anyone else would agree that it represents his “10 best”. Does anybody else like Quinn the Eskimo as much as I? Maybe that’s the point of these lists after all.
I’ve just listened to Every Grain Of Sand, Stereogum’s best Bob Dylan song, and it ain’t got nothing on Quinn the Eskimo.
